An ultra-refreshing, not-too-sweet punch with bright citrus and a brisk tea backbone—perfect for beating the heat.
Step 1: Brew a strong tea base
Bring 2 cups (500 ml) of the water just to a boil. Pour over tea bags in a heatproof jug, steep 5 minutes for a bold brew (don’t oversteep or it can turn bitter), then remove tea bags.
Step 2: Sweeten while warm
Stir the sugar into the hot tea until fully dissolved. Add a tiny pinch of salt.
Step 3: Build the punch
Stir in lemon juice and orange juice. Add the remaining 4 cups (1 L) cold water.
Step 4: Chill hard
Refrigerate at least 1 hour, or until very cold. (Flavor improves as it chills.)
Step 5: Serve icy
Fill glasses with plenty of ice, pour over punch, and stir. Taste and adjust: add a little more water if too strong, or a little more sugar if you want it sweeter.
